I have the standard strap that comes with Canon DSLR cameras (mines a 50D) - its a strap.
This strap does not shout CANON to the world and is genuinely more comfortable around the neck-I would not believe the percent hype given in various adds though. It is bulkier but still folds away around the lens barrel when its in my camera bag (Lowepro). It does sit with more grip on the shoulder, and I have found disconnecting the main strap works when photographing an event where there is little time to stop - like all straps it can dangle at the wrong time over the lens.
It is worth the price. A good piece of upgrading kit.

Excellent quality manufacturing and well thought out design -two things we used to be good at in Britain sadly no more it seems - however America is on target here the straps stitching and materials are all of very high class as are the snap style connectors which will not accidentally unhook even if one exerts considerable pulling force. The strap is also very understated in appearance (no massive tacky logo) and is very comfortable to wear for long periods -used mine all day at the Zoo with DSLR + grip + long lens and had no problems and I have dodgy neck prone to severe aches and pains at the slightest excuse, one thing to note is its just a neck strap if you want to wear it over one shoulder sling style you need to buy the add on extensions and they're no longer available on Amazon but you can get the XL version of the pro loop extension which has detachable loops at one end so they are really the same having snap connectors on each end with the little loops removed-any way very happy with mine and look forward to collecting more adapters and add ons from the range -recommended .

Edited to add a star to the maximum of 5 because after months of regular use with heavy lenses it is the most comfortable to my neck and I feel like I have used it always.
My friends envy my choice and I recommend it to anyone who wants the best.

I have been looking for a quality strap to replace the one that came with my Canon 50D.
I do not like to go around advertising with red letters what gear I have hanging from my neck.
That said I looked for a discrete but comfortable and top quality one.
It is worth the money ... but it is not easy to attach the loop of the strap ... but after several tries and with the help of what is shown in one of the videos that can be seen in YouTube I managed to get it attached to the camera.
Whenever we need to carry the camera in our hand ready to shoot just detach the loops from the strap, attach them to each other ... and voilá.

I already have another Op/Tech strap, the Super Classic Uni-Loop, which I use on a pro DSLR. On the other DSLR's I use Op/Tech wrist straps, which link in with the same clips as the Uni-Loops.

So, when I needed a strap for a new pair of binoculars, the choice was fairly simple. This time I went for the Pro-Loop strap. Mainly because the Uni-Loop version isn't easily available in the UK. I spoke to customer services at Op/Tech and apparently, it's a USA only item, the Uni-Loop. So I just happened to get lucky when I bought them, that someone in the UK was selling them. I think it can be ordered in if requested by a couple of distributors if needs be.

The Pro Loop is different to the Uni-Loop, because the two ends that stay on the camera are about 9 inches long. On the Uni-Loop the ends are approx. 2 inches long (or less). On a camera, if I remove the strap, then the Uni-Loop is great, because there's hardly anything left to dangle around and get in the way. I decided that for the Binoculars, this didn't matter so much. Plus, there's a trick that you can do with the Pro-Loops, where you remove the strap, but connect the two tails together. This creates a mini strap. Which is how I intend to leave them for most of the time. Because, normally the binoculars are just lying around the house, for looking at birds and deer outside the window, so they are not travelling anywhere. Therefore the big strap is unnecessary. However, it's easily clipped into place if needs be, for going out walking.

One point to note if mixing the two systems, is that the actual padded strap part on the Pro-Loop strap, is much shorter than on the Uni-Loop version. You can buy a set of Op/Tech Uni-Loop extension straps to compensate for this.

I bought this to replace the strap supplied with my Nikon and found it to be very comfortable. It has the advantage that the neck strap can be removed and a wrist strap (available separately) fitted via the quick release clips on the strap should the user wish to keep the camera to hand rather than round the neck

I upgraded to a DSLR recently and tried the kit strap. I will never again use a kit strap as it came undone during a walk and my camera fell from chest height onto the ground. Luckily it landed in mud and after a heart stopping moment and a good clean it turned out nothing had been damaged - it's never the falling that's the problem, it's hitting the ground that does the damage (soft landings, get them where you can). This strap is excellent, it actually feels more substantial than some of the rifle slings I've used in airsoft and those were military grade kit. I like that it's got some quick release buckles and there are other options in the range to adapt it to suit. The padding is substantial but not overly so and curls up well inside your kit bag. I think it's neoprene with one gripping rubberised side, it feels comfortable and doesn't slip or slide.
