Well you can guess by my title I bought the unit thinking that it would help me maintain my collection and repair some disc's, The user interface is so easy a child could use it and the quality of the repairs is fantastic!. I have yet to find something that requires the highest setting, on the negative side the unit is noisy and you must get used to cleaning the disc's properly after they come out of the machine, how many of you have cursed when you buy a DVD on the net and it comes out of position rattling as the parcel moves and looks like a skating team of mice have visited the disc!, no more problems with this unit even the deepest of those scratches seem to only take the 5 minute setting, in short this can and will return a disc to a new looking condition.

Having tried the cheaper options for repairing discs (there are various liquids / machines) one thing I came to realise was that they tended to leave various marks behind (be it rings, light scratches etc etc). So I decided it was time to make a step up. I initially purchased the Compact Plus and having been pleased with that I decided to make an upgrade to this machine having found the amount of discs I was getting, the Compact Plus was no longer enough to get them all done.

This is certainly a fine machine. It does get discs to look just like they did when new so is perfect for people who buy and sell DVDs or even to offer as a service to others who have scratched discs. The only real flaw with the machine is it is unable to do GameCube discs properly. Everything else, ranging from DVDs, Blu Ray and Console games get that just new look and it can even get discs to work which would not have otherwise loaded up. Arguably it is marginally more expensive to run than the Compact Plus machine (not a lot in it though) but for the sheer amount more discs it is capable of doing it is well worth the money. Maintenance is very easy (especially compared to the compact plus which was a bit on the cumbersome side to deal with), although it does still require the discs to be manually sprayed and wiped (although I understand the next machine up removes having to do that).

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this machine to anyone who has a large amount of scratched discs. It won't be for everyone purely due to the cost, but it more than pays for itself over time given that shops tend to charge £2-3 per disc otherwise.

This is the real deal! This is what most high street stores use to repair disc's and charge £2-3 per disc, prices for this are 10p - 40p, great saving.

Good product, shame price is such a premium.....quality costs!
