4.0 out of 5 stars No hassle set-up and easy to use, 31 Dec 2003
    By A Customer
This review is from: TDK Bluetooth PCMCIA Card (Electronics)
Having successfully used my old phone to access the internet on my laptop with infra-red I was keen to try out my new mobile's bluetooth functionality for a similiar purpose. Having read several reviews of bluetooth adaptors I was keen to avoid the trap of buying an adaptor with a poor software set-up as this invariably led to problems. The TDK was recommended for being easy to set up and use and I have found both to be the case. The included software is very good and interfaces nicely with Windows Explorer. The included mobile phone software is also well produced although I prefer to use Nokia's own software. Although the USB variant is cheaper I find the PCMCIA adaptor a more elegant solution for a laptop and allows more robust portable use without lots of excess wiring hanging around. I certainly find being able to communicate with my mobile discreetly in my pocket less fiddly than trying to keep two IrDA ports lined up, particularly in a moving vehicle.
