These VHS Tapes are great for recording casually. The colour reproduction is very good, even on an old Video Recorder. I'm using these with a Loewe VV6336H and haven't had, and don't envision, any problems. Obviously VHS cannot match the quality of a DVD or Hard-Disk recording but for simplicity they are unbeatable: there's no "initialising" as with DVDs [at least there is on my machine...which hasn't been doing this properly and wasting discs], just simple load and record. For programmes which run on a daily or weekly basis and aren't to be archived, these tapes mean quick and easy recording. The tapes run for three hours and at just over a few quid they are a bargain! Again, colour reproduction and sound are clear even with repeated use: oh, and they have nostalgia value too!
I like nothing more than recording Coronation Street on a VHS tape. Sure, I have Sky+ and a recording hard drive. But nothing beats the clunky, unportable feel of a proper retro cassette tape.
I have lots of time on my hands too, so I enjoy having to tug out the excess film, that has got stuck in my video recorder. My holiday footage is disposable anyway, so why not store it on an ancient, unreliable format, with an abundant backlog of failed recordings?
I take a satchel with me everywhere anyway, so why should I not fill it with a massively oversized cassette tape, that records a whopping 2 hours of poor quality media?
