The advent of Blu-ray technology has led to the introduction of high capacity storage discs to meet the demand caused by the rapid growth of high definition television (HDTV).The Blu-ray discs get their name from blue laser technology. The shorter wavelength of the laser is the reason that it is blue in colour. The blue laser has a wavelength of 405nm compared with the wavelength of 650nm for DVD which utilises red laser technology. The benefit of having a blue laser with a shorter wavelength means it is possible to write smaller data pits and therefore vastly increase the amount of data on the disc. 2006 saw the introduction of Blu-ray and HD DVD discs. Both offer 3 to 5 times the storage capacity of a standard recordable DVD disc, enabling the recording, rewriting and playback of high definition video (HD). Blu-ray discs have a capacity of 25GB, capable of recording more than 2 hours of high definition programming.

Went to order 5 of these discs from Discountdiscs, thought what a bargain. Yes if you drive there to pick them up.

I recorded some high definition video to this disc and can confirm it is excellent quality; I have had no problems recording or re-recording using a LG GGW-H20L Internal Blu-Ray burner.
Amazon Verified Purchase
Prompt delivery but the Jewel case was damaged. I do a lot of video authoring and burning which really taxes the computer and discs. I never read the advert properly, thinking I was getting two discs for the price as stated "TDK BD-RE 2x 25Gb" for the nearly £7 per disc. Unfortunately 2x was the recording speed - doh! I'd already been using a pack of 5 similar Verbatim discs at just under £4 each for over a year and the TDK one doesn't do any better. So, not good value for money and I'm glad I only bought one. If you want better value, buy the Verbatim ones.

Not sure long-term but good so far!!
Trying these out with a cutting edge (read bleeding-edge - my wallet was anyway) Blu-Ray writer (Pioneer BDR-202BK BluRay Rewriter)...!!
