Product Description

Product Description

I believe with practice anyone can learn to read the cards. In Tarot My Way I will teach you how to read them with quick and easy to remember definitions for each card, read them like reading a sentence.

Tarot My Way is a guide to reading Tarot cards the way I read them. It's easy to remember the 78 cards of the Rider Waite deck by looking at the individual cards and the unique pictures "seeing" the answer to the client's questions. My way of reading is modern and up to today’s way of living. Each card has clues in the picture to what you need to know. I'll show you how to interpret them quickly and easily.

The Tarot card books are very spiritual with descriptions that are deep and meaningful. My way of reading the cards is for today with cars, computers and phones. When you look at the cards you see ancient people and sceneries. Men don’t wear capes and dresses – they’re wearing them in the cards. How are you supposed to read them? Don’t misunderstand me I am not knocking the ancient cards and their meanings they’re beautiful but I am trying to adjust them to quick answers to questions asked of me in a timely manor. I’ve studied the cards in the Rider Waite deck for 43 years and have created my own way of reading them.

I would like to thank Shirley Blackwell Lawrence for all her help.

I have been working with and reading the Tarot for 43 years. I studied with some well known Psychics one of which is Katharine Cover Sabin and have worked for the Psychic Hotline and read for many satisfied and repeat clients over the years. I'm a double Scorpio/Sagittarius my card is The Empress which fits me well. I love the outdoors, interior decorating and sewing. I live in La Mesa California with my husband Terry and our cat Bubba. We have between us five grown children and thirteen grandchildren. This book is a fulfillment of a prophecy made by Rev. Alice Bradford about 40 years ago. I would have written it sooner but life got in my way.

Among author's relatives were German General Ludwig Beck, who was involved in one of the attempts to assassinate Hitler; Ole Borg, the first Mormon to go to jail for having too many wives; builders of the first electric power plant in Richfield, Utah as well as readers of tea leaves and playing cards and the author of still available book Practical Lessons in Hypnotism, Wm. Wesley Cook, A.M., M. D.

TAROT MY WAY starts as an engaging family history with few enough details to move fast through enjoyable stories, such as Lauraley and her sister spending a night talking with a group of people about séances and learning, in the morning, that their parents were right there, wearing some Indian print clothes!

"When you make a major change in your life it's time for a reading to make sure you're doing the right thing, " says the author, presenting her powerful layout of nine cards, the one she uses to answer any questions. There are no set positions to it, but when you read the example reading in the book it all becomes clear and you feel, yes, I do not have another word for it, you f-e-e-l how this highly intuitive woman sees the answers in the cards when she is doing it "her way". Lauraley reads the cards like their combinations are sentences in a story, with each card influencing another. Horizontally, vertically, diagonally: there is a whole treasure-hunt of choices, allowing her to go deeper into the reading.

One of the author's main questions: How do you read ancient looking cards in the modern world? Without denying the past, she adjusts them to the present, turning an oracle into a guide to your life. Lauraley shares the descriptions of the cards according to her, and I simply loved many of them, such as this look at the Empress: "She is a country girl, you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl." I am the Empress, it is one of my birth cards, and boy, does it fit! She also gives a simple yet practical list of keywords for each of the 78 cards, including professional occupations, character traits and much more.

Tarot enthusiasts love to read about Tarot and other people's way into it. If you need a quick read for a free lunch time, which, in the end, will leave you with a few new keywords, this is a book for you. I enjoyed its sincerity and when I learnt that Lauraley loves reading for Pisces, I keep on thinking: how can I get a reading with her?

Love This Book! 26 Nov 2010

While I haven't yet completed this book, I'm writing to say that so far, I love it. The author gives a glimpse of her reading process and personal insight in to the cards. It's wonderful to see a book on the market that is simple yet so insightful as it reveals the author's personal card meanings which are accurate, but not necessarily the meanings you'll find in mass market books on the subject. Tarot My Way shows readers how to imbue cards with unique personal meanings that will add to the core memorized meaning of each card. The author's family history is fascinating, and a great read in and of itself. The first reading example illustrated in the book is of a spread not typically illustrated in standard tarot books (more of a Lenormand style spread), which I found very interesting and a great learning tool.

Tarot chatters, bloggers and all around tarot enthusiasts should take a look at this one.
