This opener grips different size lids well. It makes opening easy. I bought one for someone with arthritis and they found it very helpful as it is well-weighted and easy to hold.

Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this just to open bottles such as Lemonade and Tonic Water. I won't say it is useless, but I have already thrown it away. I have purchased a more expensive one which does not pinch your fingers evertime you use it. My advice to anyone who has difficulty with bottles and jars is to go for the more expensive one, it is well worth it. I now have two, one in the kitchen and one with the drinks.
