Product Description

Fourth feature instalment in the Gallic action/comedy series created by Luc Besson. A notorious Belgian crook (Jean-Luc Couchard), facing extradition to Africa, is left in the care of the Marseilles police department for a day. However, the foxy felon manages to hoodwink bumbling policeman Emilien (Frederic Diefenthal) into believing that he's actually just a humble Belgian embassy employee, caught up in a fiendish trap set by the criminal mastermind ...

Product Description

United Kingdom released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: French ( Dolby Digital 5.1 ), English ( Subtitles ), WIDESCREEN (2.35:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Interactive Menu, Making Of, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: Taxi 4' is the fourth installment of the ever-popular, Besson-produced French franchise. As the tale opens, a manically insane, hyperactive Belgian criminal, "Le Belge," undergoes extradition to trial in Africa. En route, he temporarily lands in the Marseilles police department for a few hours where Emilien (Frédéric Diefenthal) works, and bamboozles him into believing that he's actually a Belgian embassy employee railroaded by the real crook, who is now at large. Emilien foolishly buys the story and sets Le Belge free, prompting an outrageous and explosive series of complications. But luckily enough for Emilien, his friend taxi-driver Daniel (Samy Naceri) who drove the criminal from the Police Station unaware of him being a criminal, comes to the rescue. When Emilien tells police commissioner Gilbert (Bernard Farcy) where he can retrieve the criminal he gets his old job back and the hunt for the criminal is on! This high-adrenaline, action-charged crime comedy was a box-office hit on the other side of the channel. It stars all of the original cast and a cameo from footballer Djibril Cissé. ...Taxi 4 ( T4xi IV ) ( Taxi Four )

4.0 out of 5 stars LE T4XI RIDES AGAIN!!!! 21 Aug 2008
Format:DVD
If your a lover of the Taxi films then your gonna love this, Taxi 4 was released in France last year a whole ten years after the first movie hit the screens and their still hitting top gear.

Admittedly my favourite Taxi movie is number two, that one topped the first installment and even though number three was good it didn't beat the second one. Now the gang is back once again for another crazy story involving almost the entire cast. (no lilly at all, even though her parents are in this).

This movie is based a few years on from the last one as we left them in number three with emillien just becoming a father and our speedfreak hero Daniel finding out Lilly is also pregnant, making them focus on having to grow up and take on real responsibility. the former they just couldnt accomplish (men never grow up, I know so... I am one lol)

In Taxi four we find them with their sons aged around five, veritable miniatures of their fathers and the boys do get involved in the story as well although thankfully they dont become focus of the whole plot.

The main story of this movie is that a belgian terrorist (I know, just the thought of it) is being transferred through marseilles and its the police's responisbility to keep him contained within his cage (literally).

Knowing this means automatically somehow their bufoonery lets the terrorist escape and all pandemonium ensues leading to our heroic duo joining forces once more to save the day.

There are one or two changes with this movie compared to the last three, first off as previously mentioned there is no lilly (daniels partner) and personally more importantly the car has changed.

From a Peugeot 406 to.... a 407.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better 6 May 2008
Format:DVD
I am a hard core fan of all the Taxi movies because they are funny and all the stunts are real, which makes a difference from the Hollywood American hero crap. T4xi is a very funny movie, the jokes are good and its a good film to sit back and watch. Unfortunately Daniel doesnt really have much to do in this 4th installment as its mainly about Emelien on a mission to catch a crook whom he accidentaly released from the Police station. It is a good film, but there were opportunities they didnt take, such as a scene in Monaco which i thought could have been a great place for a car chase scene round the F1 GP circuit.

Over all, a little disappointing especially if you are a big fan of the Taxi movies like me. But its still a good laugh and an enjoyable film to watch, Daniel has a new car and you get to see the kids. My only complaint is that Lilly is not in this movie, i was very sad she was not part of the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars High speed High Jinks 7 Oct 2011

Following on from Taxi was always going to be a hard thing to do.A little lack lustre but still good escapism, but if the price is right , still a worthwhile addition to any collection.Sami Naceri looks a little older but manages to pull off the same character with style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taxi. 23 May 2014

Brilliant movie,

Best of the four. (only in the sense of over kill with the taxi mods in the later movies).

Luc Besson found some great actors and has made some of the best and funniest action scene's possible.

Wouldn't have paid full price for it, but its definitely worth the £3-£4 Amazon charge for it. It's better than Taxi 3, but not as good as the first one (as so few films are).

If you liked the first one, its enjoyable. More emphasis on the story than just on Daniel driving his taxi fast

3.0 out of 5 stars T4Xi [DVD] 25 May 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Arrived on time....throughout the whole movie it froze once for a split second, then played on. i gave it 3 stars because the taxi driver didnt drive at all in this movie except once to get the football player to the game. that was it. No nudity which i was hoping to see again and no Marion Cotillard, who i was dying to see.
