Product Description

Review

"Theo's own story of developing his exceptional speed and striking skill that in the book causes him to fell the irate head teacher but in reality made him the fleet-footed darling of the Emirates at only 17 is threaded through the story. Good on detail, nicely written with a light humorous touch, Theo shows as sure a foot in print as on the pitch." (Julia Eccleshare The Guardian)

"Now his range (Theo Walcott's) of kid's books look set to be a huge success too." (The Sun)

"the first two books are actually pretty good... thoroughly enjoyable. Their climaxes, little more than made-up match reports, are particularly well done. Like their creator, this series could run and run." (Simon Burnton The Observer)

"Both stories... deal with the hard graft of training... Entertaining reads for soccer fans aged seven and upwards." (Irish Examiner)

"a great idea to get football-mad boys and girls reading and enjoyable enough to welcome others into the world of the beautiful game" (Junior Magazine)

Book Description

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspires reluctant readers 8 Mar 2011
By Tom
Format:Paperback
My son had never wanted to read more than the first chapter of other books. He read this from cover to cover and really enjoyed it. The excitement of the football is brought out of the page in a way that he could connect with. It's not too long either. A super choice for a boy interested in football but not interested in reading.

This is a great read for boys. My son sat and read it from cover to cover without any trouble. Doesn't usually like fiction, but loved this.

Having read various football fiction books from 2/3 authors my 7 year old son regards Theo Walcott's books as some of the best. He really enjoys reading them!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great book! 18 Oct 2012
By BSSFC
Format:Paperback
I am in year 7 and I read this book in September.

This book is about T.J, a boy who moved to a new school, and his family. The new school has no facilities what so ever... until Mr. Wood came. He turned the school upside down with new ideas.

Mr. Wood is a new teacher based in the P.E department. He wants to start a football team but the head teacher disagrees. Mr. Wood has a back-up plan with a famous footballer coming to visit them.

My favourite part was when Parkview made a great victory against their snobby local rivals Hillside.

I would defiantly recommend this!

5 stars.
