This looks like a good design for a nut-cracker, and maybe for thin-shelled nuts it could be very good; but unfortunately it proved unable to crack open the almonds from my garden tree, which have required another much more expensive design of nut cracker to open.

To parody the well known lyric this item is Lovely to look at, Delightful to hold but Rubbish to use. I am able to crack hazelnuts with it. Hazelnuts it will crack. Sadly, if I wish to branch out from the Hazel then I have to dig out my old traditional frogs-hind-legs style crackers. The wooden screw handle on this item is far too small a diameter (and too slippery) to produce sufficient leverage force and so anything tough like an Almond or a Brazil is impossible to crack. Very very sad as I've always fancied this style of device.

This is a nut cracker which I remember from my childhood.
It's works with any nuts and you don't need much strength to use it.

Pretty good
Overall this is a pretty good little nut cracker. It does struggle with Almonds sometimes though and I wouldn't recommend for someone with a weak grip.

"As sweet as a nut" cracker
This nut cracker works well on our walnuts (and almonds at a push) - going to buy some more as gifts!

So easy to use
The nut cracker is much easier to use than more traditional designs. The nut does not "fly off your hands" and most of the big chunks of the shell stay in the collection part. Read more

Good
Good quality product which does what it's supposed to do. I would be a bit concerned about being too heavy handed with it.

Nut too good
As said before, it's good for hazelnuts and walnuts and can just about handle a brazil if you have the muscles for it but it is well and truly beaten by almonds.
