Very interesting book especially for those, who admire T.E.Lawrence and his work. The author writes about different important episodes of Lawrence life and their probable psychological influence on his further behaving. There are also many information about Lawrence friends including J.B.Shaw and his wife, Gertrude Bell, Winston Churchill and others. In my opinion, even people interested deeper in Lawrence life can find many new facts and interesting interpretations in this book.

Format: Hardcover
Thomas Edward Lawrence; Lawrence of Arabia remains to this day a true enigma. Did he court the publicity which destroyed him, or was his fame an unfortunate by-product of Lyell Thomas's book and theatre presentations? Was a shy asthetes' life destroyed by fame or was he a 'fame junky'? This book goes deep into the Lawrence enigma, how he passed up high military rank in peacetime England to serve in the lower ranks. What his driving force to do that was is still debated and this book adds valuable material to that debate, but the questions still remain. Eventually, every-one must make their own mind up and believe what they will about this complex intellectual who couldn't quite believe his fame.

The book is very well written and explains a lot relating to Lawrence and why he dropped out of the lime light. The book is a good condition and arrived on time.

By L. S. Brooks - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
The author presents a very interesting production of the whys and wherefors of Lawrence of Arabia...after reading many Lawrence of Arabia books, it was a very pleasant break from the basic history of TE....I would recommend it to anybody who has an interest in El Lawrence.
