Some books start well and fizzle out. Some books start well and keep flowing with "stuff" that makes you want to keep turning the pages and going wow...

And some books are life changing + right up to the last page...

"Imagine you're 100 years old and you decided to reflect back on your life."

This is on the very last page of this amazing book and is part of an experiential exercise to ensure you "look back" at a life well lived...

This is a "core" text of Transactional Analysis - a theory of personality / personality development / intrapsychic functioning / interpersonal relating and a philosophy and ever expanding system of helpful change techniques.

Stan Woollams and Michael Brown start with an introduction to TA as it is affectionately known and then go on to cover Transactional Analysis as it was in 1978 - when this book was originally published.

Chapter 2 covers ego states and explains the difference between structure and function amongst other things. If you are interested in delving deeper into Ego States then also buy the book by Helena Hargaden and Charlotte Sills which is very good and called funnily enough "Ego States"...

Chapter 3 covers Strokes - a theory of communication and relating and is a stand alone piece of TA that may change your life + especially if you "learn" how to embrace unconditional positivity into your life...

Chapter 4 is brilliant and covers "how to map" how we actually relate and transact with each other. The next sentence is what I like to call - one sentence therapy - and this is worth the price of the book on its own...
