I find the order of the music a bit strange - first the Symphony no 3, then the Stabat Mater, then the powerful piano concerto. Gergiev gets this maseter pirce to vibrate. Really great and very Slavic in its sound and musical expression.
I found the Stabat mater, that I did not know before acquiring this CD a piece of work. Layer for layer I am getting into it. The text in English is plain - I have a hunch that it is more colourful in Polish.
