another beautiful album from miss brightman!,
By
This review is from: Symphony [UK] [+bonus track] (Audio CD)
sarahs new album is more in keeping with "timeless" than her last few albums!
the artwork and packaging is stunning and reflects the albums music perfectly! after "harem" with its eastern routes this album is more classical than her recent albums. its big on the symphony orchestra and choirs..it seems no expense has been spared! track by track "gothica" is more an introduction to the next track than a song in its own right "symphony" is a huge epic of a song its big on the orchestra and opera choir..with sarah weaving her vocals inbetween..its got a great dark gothic feel 9/10 "fluers du mal" is a beaitiful sad song with great lyrics and sarahs vocal is fragile yet perfect..showing her full range! the song builds and builds to a full orchestral blow out 8/10 "canto della terra" is a duet with andrea bocelli and the big vocals of the both of them deliver a big operatic duet as you would expect 8/10 "sanvean" is a haunting track but a bit forgetttable 6/10 "i will be with you" is a duet with paul stanley and the track is a great guitar driven track that could be a hit single 9/10 "schwere traume" is a standard opera track 6/10 "sarai qui" is a duet with alessandro safina and again its a solid opera track delivered superbly 8/10 "storia d'amore" is another big opera song delivered well 7/10 "let it rain" is beautiful! my favourite on the album! it has a wonderful piano running through the song! the lyrics are great and the song builds and builds wonderfully..sarah delivers a wonderful vocal 10/10 "atessa" is an ok opera track 6/10 "pasion" is a duet with fernando lima and is another strong performance from them on a trusted formula 8/10 "running" is another standout track..it starts out a bit star wars soundtrack..then dives into "jerusalem" before whipping you off to "harem" and then into a great rock track then dipping back into the previous sounds...a stunning end! 10/10

I have bought this on US import from Amazon.com already....and it is FANTASTIC!!!! ONLY Sarah Brightman can combine rock, pop and opera and come up with something unique.
I very much doubted anything she did after her "Eden" album would ever be as good but "Symphony" comes damn close to it. From the stunning album artwork and imagery to EVERY track on this album, this is 57 minutes of pure BLISS. My favourites...."Gothica" and "Running"....this album was MADE to be played LOUD. I ended up playing this album three times in a row...it is SUPERB!!!!

The new album is one of her best. I love her classical voice and i love when she sings in duet. My favourites are "Pasion", "Fleurs du mal" and "Symphony" (a cover version of the german Silbermond-Hit "Sinfonie").
