Very good book; obvious the author has knowledge and probably was there. Not highly technical and quite humourous in places. This probably doesn't sound like a great review coming up but I love this book and read it over at least once a year, not because of the military/macho stuff, but because the main characters are people that I can identify with and despite reading once a year, I still find snippets I have missed and can still have a laugh and joke with them.
Can I recommend this book? You bet! I'd recommend on two seperate levels: for servicemen and women as it reminds you of what we left behind.
I'd recommend anyone else to read it for an insight into what "serving" is like; especially when the bullets start flying.
A great book, and should be on the reading lists in schools, maybe we'd have less wars?
