Another glimpse into a sinister sister-world from Marorie Liu, whose passionate love affair with the English language confirms and hauntingly enriches the legitimacy of the fantasy fiction genre.
The writing is compelling, the ethereal plot haunting. Although beautifully complete in itself this story is a gem and I find myself wondering about Clora, where she goes, what becomes of her, what more is there to this world she inhabits. Perhaps that's the best thing one can say about a short story - it lingers at the edges of the mind and informs reality at the most ordinary of times.
Write forever, Ms. Liu.
