You cant afford to go without it, however, it does use up a lot of system resources so slowing down not so good computers and I have often had problems with it crashing my computer while im playing a game however this can be prevented by disabling the antivirus program.

I regularly update the virus definitions of the internet and as of yet have not had a virus and not been hacked or at least to my knowledge. Its useful to be able to track hacking attempts and the program is great for allowing access from various ports that are used by computer games/programs.

Ive tested the firewall on many test your security sites and the results were very pleasing at least for a home user anyway. After you have used the program for a few weeks and it has learned which programs need to access the internet you wont even notice its there most the time.

So to stay secure, I recommend this product. Alternatively McAfee is quite good. P.S. check with your internet service provider that the product is supported.

It really is a great piece of software which protects your computer system fromthose pesky hackers. Not only this but it also eliminates other annoying things on the internet, such as pop-ups and ads.

With this Norton Personal Firewall it will actually tell you when someone is trying to hack into your PC and then you will given the option to either block it or permit it. There is also a really groovy facility which allows you to track (presumably via satalite) exactly where in the world the hacker is, and give you details of their address and post/zip code.

Also, while you are online, Norton Personal Firewall will automatically scan for new sercurity and protection updates keeping you forever safer.

Overall this is a very good piece of software which will make your internet experience much better, while at the same time, giving you back your privacy and security and keeping your mind at rest. I would also getting the Norton Antivirus 2004 which is also brilliant and complements this software destroying and viruses should they enter your system.

Both highly recommended, especially for serious surfers.
