4.0 out of 5 stars Soulful disco and stirring ballads 23 July 2007
By Pieter Uys HALL OF FAME TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
Sylvester created the most delectable, passionate disco and soul music, better than most of today's dance music. He had a wonderful falsetto voice that is carried along on the most infectious dance beats or wraps itself around the most smoldering ballads. In the late 1970s he was as popular as Donna Summer and ruled the dance charts. Over And Over and Never Too Late are superb, but the two immortal dance tracks here are of course the pulsating Dance (Disco Heat) and the soaring You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real). They are two of the most sublime dance tracks ever laid down: very melodic, hypnotic music with a gospel undertone.

4.0 out of 5 stars a taste of the seventies 13 Dec 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Reading the other review I felt like saying a few words too. I agree with him completely. His style is quite unique and nostalgic, as you don't see things like that today anymore.
Plus, there is a song in particular that was quite remarkable to me when I bought the LP back in the late 70's, and I hoped to find it on this CD. Luckily I did. It is a slow version of "You make me feel mighty real" that I suppose few people know, and it's brilliant! Sylvester really did make a difference. I'm glad I bought this CD. Thanks Amazon UK!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sublime soul & disco 23 July 2007
By Pieter Uys - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Sylvester created the most delectable, passionate disco and soul music in the late 70s and early 80s. He had a wonderful falsetto voice carried along on the most infectious dance beats or wrapping itself around the most smoldering ballads. In the late 1970s he was as popular as Donna Summer and a permanent fixture on the dance charts. Sylvester had the soul of the Staple Singers, the funk of James Brown and the tunes to match.

5.0 out of 5 stars SYLVESTER, WEATHER GIRL DISCO FUNK/GOSPEL SOUL BON ANZA!! 29 Mar 2001
By Mr Andrew C Salt - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
If you are a fan of You make me feel, Over and over and Disco Heat (come on get up everybody)club favourites I suggest you check this album out. Apart from the tracks mentioned there are other funk/disco tracks, slower funk/soul/gospel tracks and some worthy well arranged ballards. The famous weather girls (Two tons of fun) are present backing sylvester and taking the lead locals on other tracks. Some of the vocal harmonies are second to none and the overall well produced feel good sound of these back to back albums is uplifting. A must for anyone into soul/funk/disco.

3.0 out of 5 stars sound quality 11 Feb 2013
By c-ham - Published on Amazon.com

i want to give a 5 star rating, but the sound quality lacks bottom (you stereo buffs know what i mean). however it has some of the hard to find songs that i liked way back in the days that they were playing them at the clubs and on the radio. if you like sylvester dont let this review stop you from buying this cd, it has very good songs and your ears might hear it to your satisfaction.....PS i know what you are thinking....i have top of the line stereo equipment. there is no fault in my system. but let me also add.....i download music to play in my car on a flash drive and the cd sounds great!

5.0 out of 5 stars He might have been sweet, but he had talent 25 Dec 2012
By K. Frazier - Published on Amazon.com

I always liked 'Dance Disco Heat' Also check out 'Was it something that i said', Allot of people have sample his music, and it's a reason why. They just do not make music like this anymore. From the music to the tight background singers. He was very much out of the closet but he cared about what music he released, and for the most part it was R&B, dance music. He did some good slow songs too,yes the brother/sister could sing. I was too young to understand why he looked the way he did,but it was all about the music who cares what he did. This is his 2 best albums he did! Late 70's Dance, sould music. My favoritie is the Ashford & Simpsons 'Over & Over' his version was much better because the music was just in your face!
