A Classic Nunan Work 23 Nov 2003
Format:Paperback
For those interested in Syallbus design then this is the work for you. As usual Nuan keeps things very simple, exploring all of the key issues and detailing new communicative approaches. He suppliments all theory with relevant examples. This is somewhat easier to read that Hedges' book and is especially good for MA students in TESOL.

Boring Cover...So So Book 1 Jun 2007
By Bu-Chan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
David Nunan is a greatly respected author in EFL circles, and it was with some suprise that I hit his "Syllabus Design" like a brick wall. Unlike some of his other books, which were exceptionally good, this left a lot to be desired.

Much of the book is reader tasks, analysing excerpts from published course materials. While this is not a bad thing in itself, some chapters are mostly these tasks. When the tasks require some response from the reader, there is little to no indication of what Nunan is looking for. In some cases this was not necessary, but in a lot of others it would have been useful to get some idea of what Nunan was after.

The information in the book about syllabus design seems pretty limited in some cases, but what is there is very good. However, I just think there are much better out there for teachers looking for introductions to syllabus design and so on.

Overall, I was not all that impressed with "Syllabus Design", though it did contain some good information. Compare this with other books before you decide to buy this one. You might find yourself preferring others.
