A Sharp Buy 8 Dec 2011
By Jason Talley - Published on Amazon.com
For anyone with an interest in weapons and their history this is a really great book to have. Centuries of combats and dozens of weapons from around the world are covered and shown in loving detail.

Each entry gives the vital stats of a weapon such as its name, length, time period and country of origin as well as the basics of its functionality. While reading this there were many times in which I wished there was more information on an especially interesting weapon. But this book is about the diversity of weapons and as such that makes in-depth details impractical.

As I said, each weapon is either an actual example of this weapon from history or a modern reproduction. The photos of each weapon are delightfully sharp and detailed. More than once I took some time to really just pour over the detail work that went into some of the weapons.

Whether you plan to use this book for research or simply learning if you have an interest in swords or melee weapons in general this book is a great buy.
