This dvd and included booklet is designed to help fiddlers get a sense of Swing. And it does just that. It is neither too complicated or too dumbed down. Another reviewer complained of the production value, but it isn't a performance, it is a lesson. You feel like you do at a lesson in a one one on experience with a teacher. It will give you a starting point. It assumes you can read notes or play by ear and already know violin or fiddle basics, and is best digested a piece at a time. Occasionally Mr. Glaser moves out of first position, but he makes it clear that playing beyond first position is neither necessary or even optimal to play in the swing style. I held off one star because of the production value, the mikeing makes the instrument sound a little weak. A better mixed performance piece would have served as inspiration.
