This is a lovely large piping bag made of strong nylon with a cotton feel covering. It is about 35cms in length, 23cms at the opening and 5cms around the bottom where you connect the nozzle via a connector, a 2 part plastic cone with a screw fitting, this slips into the bag at the top and slides down to the bottom, then you place the nozzle in the locking ring and screw into place, a bit like putting a teat onto a babies bottle. The nozzles themselves are quite large at just over 3cms across the top and 5cms in length they are made of hard white plastic.
There are 8 nozzles of which 6 are star shaped, they range from large enough to pipe meringue or potato to the smaller icing ones, although a little too large for formal intricate piping they seem to me to be more suited to piping butter cream. there are 2 plain nozzles, the largest for éclairs and the smallest for butter cream.
All in all a good set for beginners or for piping potato meringue and butter icing.
Would not recommend for formal piping as too large or would it be any good for cookie dough that is very stiff, not sure if the seem would stand up to that amount of pressure needed to force the dough through.
I am very pleased with this set. I needed something to pipe mashed potato onto the top of a fish pie and it worked extremely well, great for decorating cupcakes too!
