Book Description

6 Dec 2004
Aidan Cresney seems to be a model citizen. An active member of the parish council and a former barrister, he took up beekeeping as a retirement hobby.

Cresney confidently boasts that bees will never attack an apiarist 'who knows what he's doing'. Yet one day he is found dead after suffering multiple stings. When a second family member dies in similar circumstances, tongues begin to wag. And Melissa Craig, the Cotswolds' intrepid crime-writing sleuth, starts to uncover some disturbing secrets.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing. 27 July 2004
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
As an avid fan of Melissa Craig I was eagerly awaiting the latest in the series but, having just completed reading it, I was rather disappointed. A shallow story-line with equally disappointing characters. All rather predictable. What a shame she's married boring Joe Martin. Hopefully he will be her next murder victim! Bring back some of the original characters that have been omitted from this book or create others who grab our interest and imagination moving the investigation along. Please leave mum to stagnate in her bungalow in future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Melissa Craig series 3 Jan 2009
By Miss Marple - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I believe this is the last Melissa Craig book written and it took me some time to locate a copy. Anyway, Melissa is now married and has her mother living with her in an add-on to Melissa's house. Melissa goes to visit her neighbors and finds one of them dead from multiple bee stings. Still reeling from that, another member of the family ends up dead from the same cause. Coincidence or foul play? Her neighbors were not the most friendliest and now the widow becomes attached to Melissa, calling her often for support. But the family is not all it appears and there are some skeletons rattling around waiting to be found. Quite a nice cozy.
