Product Description

In the bestselling tradition of Jeffrey Archer and Dick Francis comes a hot new commercial talent. A young scientist, Cameron, has an idea which could revolutionise medicine. She believes that, once published, her findings will change the world. A maverick financier, Bryn, sees the potential, but convinces her that truth alone is never what secures change: it's money, nous and competitive savvy. He persuades her to go into business with him. Their aim: to build a stockmarket company worth a hundred million pounds -- big enough to survive assault; strong enough to market Cameron's technology to the entire world. Corinth, a corporation worth a hundred billion dollars, sees Cameron's technology as a threat and aims to wipe out the fledgling enterprise. The story becomes a race to the stockmarket -- and a battle to survive.

From the Publisher

Why did we publish this? Because we couldn't put it down.
Top scientists aren't always known for their commercial savvy. Cameron Wilde might be the envy of her colleagues for her brilliant research, but she's never taken the time to realise that her astounding medical discoveries aren't going to please certain multinational companies (nor to get a social life). All this changes when Bryn Hughes, City bad boy with the grace of a bulldozer, comes crashing into her laboratory. What follows is a race to outwit the corporations, to make a fortune (Bryn's idea) and to revolutionise modern medicine (Cameron's idea). Avoiding dodgy financiers who will stop at nothing, Bryn and Cameron slowly recognise that there's more than one way to see the world. But even if his fortune-hunting is tempered by her idealism, and her research revealed to the demands of the real world, there's no guarantee that these two stubborn, driven, dynamic characters will ever make personal compromises for each other.

For a publisher, this novel has all the ingredients. The plot is completely compelling, the cast of characters believable, the settings varied: we're taken from the ivory towers of Boston to the Welsh hills, from clubland to Cannes, only to end up in a converted boathouse on the Thames. But working its magic on all of this is Harry Bingham's tremendous ability to deliver a good, old-fashioned in the best sense, cracking good story.

We would say that. We're the publishers. But we dare you to disagree!
