"Sweet Karma" is a pretty 'sweet' little vengeance flik with a female protagonst dishing out the 'instant' karmic retribution to the bad guys. The plot premise is simple: a lovely, mute Russian girl (named Karma) goes on a vindictive killing spree after her sister disappears in Canada, apparently the victim of a Russian mafia white sex slave ring. While this concept is certainly not original the film manages to insert enough twists and turns to keep it fresh and intriguing right up to the 'surprise' ending.
From a 'sexploitational' perspective (if that's what U R looking for), the 'white slavery' aspect allows for plenty of scenes of humiliating degradation and nudity as Karma follows a group of girls who have recently been duped (like her sister) into believing that they are heading for 'honest' jobs in N. America only to find themselves being forced to become strippers and hookers to pay back their criminal 'sponsors'. Karma is not portrayed as any sort of highly trained killing machine - rather she comes off as a determined individual who takes advantage of the moment to wreak her vengeance. The lead character's voiceless condition undoubtedly helps the film's tone as the actress doesn't have to worry about flubbing her lines and can concentrate on looking good - which she does pretty effortlessly. All in all I found this to be an enjoyable watch featuring interesting characters, decent scripting & photography, and a gorgeous leading lady. Worth a look!

A very effective, exciting, comparatively subtle entry in the rape-revenge movie series. If Karma was sweet before, she leaves her sweetness behind when she leaves Russia for Canada, intent on revenge. Her sister has gone ahead and been duped into sexual slavery and apparent death. Now Karma will determine what really happened, and punish the culprits.
Sex, nudity, violence and gore. All are present but used to the point and not really gratuitously. Good performance from the mute actress playing Karma. Never having spoken, what could she have to say to the worthless gangsters who stole everything from her.
A happy ending? Find out for yourself. Entertaining and not too earnest.

I dont understand the "man hating" comments or the "rape revenge". This film is neither.
Neither is it a cheap done for kicks b movie. It is however a "low budget" indi film.
But it is very well done and the budget restraints dont affect its quality one bit.
Set in the world of russian sex trafficing of mostly poor nieve girls into torronto it treats is subject matter very seriously.
Basically you have a beatuful, mute russian girl out to avenge the murder of her sister by the sex gangsters. You have seen the film before many times but usually it is a man hunting down the kidnappers/killers of his duaghter. This is refreshing as it is a girl working her way through from the footmen to the bosses, women too, killing one by one. She is not a trained killer though she does have a killer body and face that she uses to full effect. Halway thorugh the film she performs one of the most captivating stripteases I have seen in a movie. Its really a 4 star movie but the striptease pumps it up to 5 for the blokes. sadly the breasts are fake which I find offputting. but she is a playmate so what do you expect. If you dont know her DONT google her untill after you have seen the movie as it may spoil your impression of her sweet russian girl character. There is a very similar film released recently called Taken, starring liam neeson, Sweet Karma is a better movie. Also the cover poster is very misleading and makes the film look very cheap. She does not go around in lingerie with a gun.

MORE MAN-HATING DRAMA THAN HORROR
Beware of this one. It's certainly not for horror fans as its weak and sparse kill scenes are only here in token form. Read more
