I have made a range of cakes, bakes and puddings from this book, and all but one have been fantastic. There are a number of cakes in this book that include yoghurt which makes them really moist (my favourite ones), and also the various citrus cakes are lovely: the lemon and poppy slices were delicious, while the syrup on the citrus cake adds another dimension to the cake! I also liked some unusual cake combinations such as the pistachio and cardamom one, which was fantastic. The cake that went wrong was an almond and butter cake but I think (and hope) the failure was due to an oven which was slightly too hot, or perhaps opening the oven door before the cake was ready to be taken out. I will be trying to make the cake again as the photo looks brilliant.
There are also many biscuits and muffins in here, including the wonderful strawberry cheesecake muffin with cream cheese and a fresh strawberry in the centre, and lovely gingerbread cookies which I made for the Christmas tree last year and disappeared long before the 25th!
The format of this little book is quite small (slightly smaller than A5 size) but it has a lovely layout - a recipe on one page and a photograph on the page next to it, so you get a picture of every dessert in the book. I find this very useful for some reason and like to know what the finished product should look like. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves baking and trying out new recipes.
