Doesn't work.
After buying was told they won't work with double glazed windows. So as long as this is not put on the description, you should treat this product as broken.

Worthy Investment 25 Aug 2011

I have an ADT home security system on all 3 entry ways/ doors with 2 motion sensors inside the house but have nothing to alert me on window break-ins. I decided to purchase 8 of this window shock alarms to alert us and neighbors for possible forced entry where our home security system might miss.

PROS:

Inexpensive unit

Uses LR44 batteries (cheap to replace)

High decibel output (louder than most alarms of it's size)

2 available settings for the desired sensitivity (high and low)

Battery indicator (easy access button to check battery life)

Comes with free window stickers that can deter burglars (available in english and spanish)

CONS:

Setting it in high sensitivity would often set the alarm right off (have to be quick and gentle in moving the switch)

Alarm doesn't have an automatic shut off duration (might be good or bad; an accidental alarm means that it will go on for hours until the batteries runs out if nobody is present at home to manually turn it off)

NOTE: After installing it on the desired location of your window. Test the unit by tapping the window with an eraser tip of a pencil. Use ear muffs whenever possible because it will be very loud.

CHECK OUT MY PICS of the product.

Work 1 out of 4 times, not reccomended 11 Jan 2012

I was really disappointed to have bought two of these from the local radio shack (I know, not Amazon technically, but it's the same Swann window shock alarm so I wanted to put in my two cents to warn other shoppers). I am using this for piece of mind and personal safety. I went to test the alarm by tapping the window. Nothing. When slammed ith my open palm it worked, the second time I tried it when on the high setting. It's not terribly sensitive even on high. Even more disconcerting, after it went off the first time it wouldn't go off again. I hit and hit the window as much as I could within reason and nothing. I would turn it off and then on again and sometime it would randomly go off just upon being turned on. Considering I got this to sleep better knowing that it would wake me if someone broke into my apartment, this hasn't been worth anything to me. I wish there was something like this that worked. With something as important as personal security, which could save lives, they really ought to put more into this product.

Since i bought the swann wireless security system, i also thought of buying this item as additional security for my house. I purchased three of these shock alarms, it was easy to set up. The problem was all three didn't work. I wasted $30 for these nonsense products..Not for security!

Considering this plans to warn an occupant while he is asleep, it doesn't sound off long enough? Who do I complain to?
