Great product, used it for the very first time and was amazed how easy it was to install! Probably not for you if you don't have too much room on your hard drive and definately not for you if you do not have DV out on your video camera as hooking up a video recorder to your PC can be cumbersome, unless you have more than one video recorder. Ulead is very easy to use but a little basic but this package with the card, cable and software is great value for money.

My enthusiasm with the speed of Amazon's quick delivery was tempered by discovering that they (Swann) had put the wrong lead in the box - a 6 to 6 meaning I couldn't use it. After a number of frustrating calls here and there I finally got through to Swann - the right lead turned up the next day so well done to them. I use the device with Pinnacle Studio 8 and my Sony Digital cam corder -with excellent results. You do need a large hard disk but Firewire is the shape of the future for PC download and this is a good package. The software is a bargain in the box as well but Pinnacle is worth the investment if you're serious about your films.

Great stuff, managed to install the card and software in less than 15 minutes (not bad for someone who's never taken the back of a pc before).Software works well although a little tricky to understand as there is no manual with the box but the on screen help seems pretty comprehensive. One word of warning, the minimum specification quoted is a 40gb hard drive, my 20gb drive is fine but with a 15 second video taking up 50mb make sure you have lots of space on your machine.
