4.0 out of 5 stars Great historical romance, brings you right back in time!, 28 April 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Swan Road (Mass Market Paperback)
This was the first book by rebecca Brandewyne i read and i enjoyed it a lot. The book brings you back to the time of the vikings where a young woman (rhowenna) is captured and falls in love with 'her viking' the one who captures her. You can tell that Wulfgar( the hero) is setting rhowenna's spirit free and she cannot help but give in. The story is exciting, sensual and you want to keep on reading, wondering what will happen next.

1.0 out of 5 stars Way too bloody, 19 Nov 2001
By D. Waizer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Swan Road (Thorndike Press Large Print Romance Series) (Hardcover)
This book was way too bloody for my taste. I could have done without the decapitations, spouting blood and gang rapes. It often seemed as if the author felt she invested too much time in researching the period to leave out historical information that was ultimately unnecessary and confusing. It was hard to believe in her characters -- the heroine falls in love with a bloody marauder who attacked her homeland. A bastard raised in poverty spouts poetry to this princess. Not very believable.

4.0 out of 5 stars swan road, 8 Mar 2000
By Cheryl L. Olson - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Swan Road (Hardcover)
I can't believe there is anything less than a 4 star rating for this book. It was written with much detail reflecting the times and kept me on the edge as to how the hero was going to protect his beloved from the enemy. It is on my keeper shelf and one of my favorite "Rebecca" books. I highly recommend it. The cover illustrations are beautiful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very well-written., 6 Feb 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Swan Road (Mass Market Paperback)
The author did a fine job of balancing romance with period information. Unlike many romance novels written about the 9th century Europe, the book lets us glimpse the social and political structures of the time.
