The product description does clearly say that it has a detachable power cord, but - my mistake - I had not realised this meant that it is not "cordless". I thought all kettles these days sit on a power pad and can be lifted off without having to unplug a cord - but not this one! I did not read the description carefully enough - don't make the same mistake I did.
