A great little book, with many snippets of information included which would not normally found in such a small language book. The author has written a larger, more comprehensive book on Tagalog also, but this one can stand proudly alone and in spite of its size is a treasure house for the learner. It is not, despite its appearance and title, a mere phrase book.

Not organized in a good way to learn 31 Jan. 2014
By Douglas Clark - Published on
Format: Paperback
I didn't like this book. I've stopped reading it.
I think it has to do with the way the book is organized. It doesn't do a good job to explain sentence or phrase construction, and content towards the beginning of the book doesn't (in my opinion) start with the useful basics. I moved forward a few sections to find more useful words and phrases but this just leads to memorization. The best part of the book for me was the first chapter which explains some history of the Philippines and the language.
I can't resell this like new book for enough $ to make it worth my effort. But I will look for a different book to learn from.
