I received this book as a gift whilst I was at university and found it excellent at helping me to use my student loan wisely. The survival guide for the skint is full of practical advice about recognising where your money is going, shopping wisely, and how to prioritise some outgoings over others. The chapters are easy to read and have a fun layout, and the ideas in the book are down-to-earth and easy to put into practice, unlike other survival guides. Now that I have left university I have found myself flicking through the book once again for tips about savings and keeping track of my income. I highly recommend this book for everybody who is trying to get the most out of their income, and its a great gift for anybody who is about to start university.

This is an excellent book. For various reasons my household is planning an economical year. There are quite a few books available on a similar theme but Jackie Wilkinson's is the best I've read. It is short, to the point and highly practical. You feel the author is writing from her real experience and therefore comes across as very authentic. We have already made use of it and hope to achieve our financial objectives by following up on its wisdom. I recommend it to everyone who uses this site. After all Amazon users like to saving money!

A very good guide and full of practical tips and sound common sense. The writing is clear and to the point and I read the whole book in a single sitting. The book will help everyone to manage their finances better and is written in a cheerful and friendly style with plenty of pointers to other source material. Anyone from an OAP, a student or even a comfortably well off middle class citizen can learn something from Jackie. I love the humourous illustrations and the punchy but pleasant prose. This book is bound to be a winner in these staightened times! Well done!!

A great read
Very useful common sense approach and very easy to read as you can dip in and out of any section. Useful templates which really make you realise where your money goes.
