I bought this on a whim,it looked interesting, late 70s early 80s, it's on the escape label, 20 tracks, reasonable price, why not? and yes it's worth checking out. Surrender turn out to be Canadian. The first 8 tracks consist of the original album which was produced by Terry Brown [Rush, Max Webster] and released early 79. Tracks 9-12 are from whats described as a mini album and the rest are previously unreleased. There is not much information about the unreleased tracks but listening too them i'm presuming they were from an aborted 2nd album proper.
The band veer towards the pomp end of the rock spectrum and the closest comparison i can think of is fellow Canadian rockers Zon and their 2nd album Back Down To Earth. If you are not familiar with Zon then the other comparison is a cross between Styx and Saga with a dash of Max Webster. If that floats your boat then check it out,at 78 minutes and at the moment a very reasonable price it's well worth a listen.
