Product Description
A riveting account of the life of Dorian ""Doc"" Paskowitz. Surfer, drop-out and sex guru, Paskowitz chose to give up on conventional life in the 1960s, instead taking his family on a journey around Americas top surfing locations, living life according to how he felt it should be lived. Decades later, his choices have split his family, with only a few of his nine children continuing his pursuit of an alternative lifestyle. The rest have not spoken to him in years, until they were re-united for this documentary. The result is a moving account of one familys implosion and a colourful history of the surfing scene in the US.

This was the one and only time I ever felt compelled to buy a documentary and I'm endlessly glad I did it!
Rarely a documentary can manage to make me laugh and cry simultaneously, and this happened with SURF-WISE. The quest for happiness, freedom from society norms and rules, the love for surf and the sea... A great perspective on the world we live in, family, and alternative form of living and raising children, not dependent on money, status, power, or accumulation of wealth, but the willing to find health and creativity. This was not a perfect family though, and the realistic approach to the ups and downs is very interesting.
I advise this to everyone!

A very inspiring documentary about the life of Dorian Paskowitz and his family. Both happy and sad sides of the story are covered leaving the viewer to decide what to learn from the Philosophy of Dorian.

This is a really fun, entertaining and interesting documentary whether you're into surfing ot not. Highly recommend.
