Product Description

A 2008 film comedy starring Matthew McConaughey as Steve Addington, a laid back, dope smoking surfer. When Steve (McConaughey) goes back to his home town of Malibu, he finds it isn't the same chilled out place it used to be. Steve just wants to surf while all his old friends have moved on, no longer sharing his relaxed attitude and love of surfing. When no wave appears in the Pacific for days on end, an old friend-turned-businessman tries to persuade Steve to record some of his surfing moves for a virtual reality game, but Steve sees this as 'selling out'. Temptation, however, begins to rear its head...

Matthew McConaughey plays Malibu's Steve Addington, a man who defines "surfer." The maker of a virtual reality video game wants Steve to become one of the avatars of the game by getting wired up and riding a mock surf board while wearing reality glasses. Steve doesn't want to do this. He wants REAL surfing...and that was pretty much the film.

Steve speaks surfer-ese, a dialect of the Cannabis language group. His language is understood by his manager played by Woody Harrelson, and farmer friend Willie Nelson.

The comedy was light. The drama fake with characters you never really know or care about. The film is about not selling out, but when you have no real values, what is there to sell out?

PARENTAL GUIDE: Pot Smoking, F-bomb, hard body nudity.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 16 Dec 2010
Format:DVD
I love to surf, so maybe I had the wrong expectations. I enjoyed wachting movies like Point Break and Blue Crush (yes, a girl's movie, but with amazing surf shots). I expected this movie to be more funny, more entertaining and that at least there would be some good surfing. But I didn't like the story line and I didn't see that much of wicked surfing shots. I didn't found it funny either, I was quite bored to be honest and sometimes I even found the character too annoying to watch.

I sold the dvd the same week.

3.0 out of 5 stars great movie but damaged sleeve... 6 Mar 2010
Format:DVD
the product came on normal time and propper packed as new. The sleeve was unfortunately broken and the layer was damaged. The dvd-sleeve can't hold it in anymore. Still i'm glad the dvd itself hasn't been damaged.
