Product Description

It's one of man's greatest endeavours: to control the weather. But what if fantasy became reality? What would it mean for the human race? Who would have control of this immense power? In this BBC science-based thriller - from the team behind 'Supervolcano' - a group of scientists are asked to do just that. What happens if they succeed? Where can hurricanes be diverted to? Who decides who lives and who dies? 4.0 out of 5 stars Above average 19 Mar 2013

"Superstorm" is slightly above average, especially in overall plot. It still has the obligatory semi-dysfunctional family but that part of the storyline is downplayed. There is an interesting twist regarding the govt. functionary and the storm science is excellent. Still, it would be just one more relatively unexceptional addition to the genre except for one thing--the accompanying documentary. The documentary gives a legitimacy to the movie not found in most other disaster films. It also helps to explain some scenes that might otherwise be blown-off as typical Hollywood BS. Watch the documentary first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great mini-series 20 Jun 2011

Really great series. Both my husband and I just love it. Cool visual effects and really makes you think about how powerful nature (in this case hurricanes)
can be and if the theories depicted could actually be used someday. Kept us in suspense the whole time and loved the actors in this series. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves the science of storms but some of the images (pictures & videos)to portray the wrath of huge hurricanes like Katrina might scare some younger viewers.
