Reviews

It was a seventies TV classic, a teatime gladiatorial contest that millions tuned in their new colour TV sets to watch. The attempt to find the ultimate sporting hero put Kevin Keegan on a bike, Bjorn Borg at a table tennis table, John Conteh on the running track and a host of sporting competitors to the terrifying challenge that was the squat thrust. The series became a sport in its own right. It created its own heroes, among them Keith Fielding, Brian Hooper, Lynn Davies, David Hemery and Brian Jacks, the Superstars Champion of Champions. Then of course, there were those – like James Hunt, Alan Minter and Stan Bowles – who discovered that there was much more to Superstars than just physical strength and ability.

This fabulous compilation features all the best moments … the famous theme music, Malcolm McDonald’s weightlifting incident, Kevin Keegan’s spectacular cycling crash and Brian Jack’s incredible arm dip and orange-eating feats.

A fabulous DVD recapturing all the glorious moments from arguably the best sporting show ever produced.
It almost brought a tear to my eyes to see all the great clips from this show, Keegan's bike drama the amazing Brian Jacks battling for supremecy with Keith Fielding, Brian Hooper taking on the Americans in their own backyard and beating them handsomly. The DVD also has profiles on the great David Vine and the late Ron Pickering a fabulous double act that made the show so wonderful to sports and non sports enthusiasts worldwide.
Buy this, sit back, take in the classic theme tune and go down memory lane to a never to be repeated piece of sporting excellence.
WELCOME TO THE SUPERSTARS!!!!
