Amazon.co.uk Review

Savage Garden, Australia's hottest export of recent years, are captured here in all their live glory as they hit their hometown of Brisbane in a triumphant sell-out homecoming gig. There is a fair amount of behind-the-scenes footage which serves to back up the roles that the two members of the band have adopted: singer Darren is the outgoing excitable one, attracted like a moth to a flame by the trappings of celebrity, whereas guitarist Daniel is the private and shy one, preferring to stay out of the limelight and just write songs. But with millions of records sold all around the world, sell-out tours, hysterical fans and a string of chart-topping singles, this unlikely pairing proves the old adage that opposites attract. All the hits are here--"To the Moon and Back", "Affirmation", "Truly, Madly Deeply", "The Animal Song" and others--but after a while the visuals do become very samey: with only two of them to look at, and one of them tending to stray away from the spotlight at every available opportunity, the poor cameramen don't have many options. The backdrop to the concert is a huge wall of multi-coloured blocks of lights, apparently based on memories of a trip to Blackpool (but without the rain, chip wrappers and drunken brawls, sadly). It's all very polished, and just a little bit sterile as it fails to recreate the atmosphere of the live experience. However, for those who were there it's a great lasting reminder. The DVD menu allows the viewer to choose multiple camera angles on a select number of tracks. --Helen Marquis

It's the Savage Garden fan here again. Yeah, I've seen them in concert and they were amazing. And it seems that they learned from their mistakes from the first album (see my review of the video collection) and totally pulled out all the stops. There is a cool pop up video of Darren explaining some of the songs, a couple of music videos, the full concert with multiple camera angles (though Imagine was cut for copyright reasons) and lots of other info to get your teeth into. If you love Savage Garden, or even if you want a spectacular concert - get this it's brilliant.

This video is absolutely amazing. From the beginning it takes you in and leads you on a journey with savage garden on tour. It is truly magnificent and it is almost as if you are there on stage with them as you feel the true atmosphere of the concert. This is an absolute must-have for all Savage Garden fans even those who know nothing of them will enjoy this splendour.

As well as live footage of them performing Darren talks as well as other cool stuff.

Buy it or you'll regret it!!!! FOREVER!!!!

I'm a Savage Garden fan, and I didn't see any live performance from them during their tour, and I was curious about, what it appears to be a calm and melodic band, could do in a live show to keep everybody praying for more! And I was supprised with the very good show they presented. The song line up is good, the stage is simple but with good light work, and despite of Daniel doesn't seem to be quite comfortable playing in front of so many people, Darren worth all the show. His voice is pure satisfaction to my hears and soul. For sure, one of the best male voices I love to hear.
The songs arrangements are good, but I didn't like what they did for my favorite song : 'You can steel be free', were his voice touch my heart! That song worth farly better than that.
On the opposite, "Gunning Down Romance" is simply superb : it's sexy (with the girl that acts with him, of course), it's well played and well performed. Outstanding stuff.
The extras on DVD simply demonstrates the simple and good guys they are.

This DVD is a must for any DVD collectors.BUY IT!
