A Triumph 21 Sep 2000
By fascinationjx - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
this album is one of the freshest and most cutting edge albums made in years. what a wonderful way to start the new millennium. The epic title track kicks off the album with a massive chorus and one of the coolest bridge/breakdowns i've ever heard. as the album goes on, the melodies grab hold of you. yesterday's taking over & waterfall are genuine pop tracks, while songs like defender & liberation are sheer rock. beautifully intertwined, none of these elements ever conflict. Supernova is consistent with it's approach from start to finish. this records sets high hopes for itself, and absolutely succeeds with what seems to be a seemless harmony of electronic music & pop/rock. lyrically, it is strong and poetic. singer, joey belville has an uncanny talent for tapping into the root of personal loss and abondonment, and turning into hope. something that is not too common in music these days. not only does Supernova flaunt exception song writing, but proves that electronic music can be fun, totally rock, and have deep personal meaning.

BIGGER THAN SUPERNOVA, ECHOING GREEN DELIVERS. 1 Sep 2001
By G. McDermott - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
One of the best CDs I have bought in a long time. One night I was channel surfing on the television and Echoing Greens video "Supernova" was playing on the Christian Channel. It caught my attention quite quickly with the leads vocals, the pop techno infused beats, and the upbeat of lyrics that is so needed in todays pop music world.

The song made me go out and buy the CD, and I was taken away by how great this album is from beginning to end. Every song could be a potential hit single. But unfortunately in America's radio world they limit their airplay to Britney, Backstreet and Christina....YAWN.

Echoing Green is very reminiscent to New Order the 1980s band that brought us "Bizarre Love Triangle" and "Perfect Kiss".

Unfortunately because of its Christian overtones it won't get the radio play it deserves, which is a shame because they don't ram Jesus down your throat they talk about prosperity, love and living a life full with positive energy.

Unlike we get in bands today like Marilyn Manson, Staind and Eminem.

"Supernova" gives you everything pop/techno sounds, great vocals and production, positive lyrics and after you play it, it makes you feeeeeeeeel goooooooooooood.

The Best Album (Ever?) 9 Oct 2000
By Jake Lindsay - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I am a big Echoing Green Fan. With that said, please understand that I have very high expectations of Joey Belville and co. This album defines and sets the standards for electronirock or alternatronic music. The lyrics are well crafted and inspiring. The music is a beautiful combustion packed with roaring guitars and drums nonetheless, it never deviates from the electronic roots that have brought the band this far. The 6 new songs surpass anything put out by the band with the exception to the classic "Aurora" (reader take note: Aurora is very personal to me- hence the high take on that song) and the new takes on "Thief", "She's Gone Tragic", and "Defender" are mind blowing. The cover of the Anything Box classic "Jubilation" gives the song a whole new dimension and along with "Defender" demands club play. If you buy one album this year, buy this album. You will not regret it. Track for track this could be the best album in my 300+ collection.
