Here's my review for the Supernatural Role-Playing Game:
GENERAL LAYOUT/DESIGN
I'm very satisfied with the design work and layout of the rulebook. It definitely feels like you're looking through hunters' notes. It has some really cool newspaper clippings and random notes.
RULES/CONTENT
The rulebook covers all the basic rules including simple/complex actions, combat, and character creation/advancement. You also get your share of optional combat rules and what not.
GAMEMASTERING CONTENT
The gamemastering content is pretty in depth. It's pretty useful, especially if you've never gamemastered before. There's also some great advice for gamemastering in a horror type setting.
MONSTERS/SUPERNATURAL CREATURES
The only complaint I've really heard is that there aren't enough monsters in the rulebook. I understand that people want a lot of monsters and that the rulebook doesn't have a ton. The rulebook provides a decent variety of monsters, but not a huge list by any means. When it comes to GMs that don't like to create their own creatures, the rulebook is a bit lacking. On the other hand, there is rules on how to create and develop your own monsters by assigning abilities.
HAUNTED LOCATIONS/SETTING IDEAS
Within the Gamemaster chapters, there's also a list of potential locations for supernatural type scenarios with a few ideas in terms of what could be happening there and even some possible npcs.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
I'm very satisfied with the game system and content in the rulebook. I don't really have any complaints aside from the rulebook coming with a starting adventure which would be a great icebreaker for people that have never played a horror rpg or an rpg in general. Some games come with an adventure to start off with, which would have been nice, but I was informed that the adventure will be out very soon.
What it really comes down to is whether or not you're the type of gamer that wants the game to lay everything out and have it cut and dry. There's a bit to be desired if you don't like developing your own monsters and scenarios from scratch. Although, I did hear that a book of monsters will be out as a supplement for this game, which would help out most gamers. There is also a great thread full of information in setting up your own Supernatural campaign. [....]
