Sam and Dean Winchester consider Bobby to be their honorary uncle. After dealing with some harpies, the trio travel to Laurel Hill, New Jersey. On the surface, the small town seems to be having a horrible run of bad luck. In truth, the unfortunate town has been infiltrated by an invincible creature that specializes in orchestrating bad accidents and causing the spread of diseases.

Sam still has a daily struggle to maintain a vise-like grip on his sanity. Occasionally Sam has trouble distinguishing between what is reality and what is "Lucifer-vision". Dean does all he can to help his brother cope. Often Sam will squeeze the scar on his left hand, prompting real-world pain to push reality back to the surface of his mind. But Dean worries that someday he may lose his brother to madness. In addition to his problem, the Winchester brothers recently had a couple of dark doppelgangers created of them by the Leviathan. These doppelgangers had gone on a cross-country killing spree. Sam and Dean must continually keep looking over their shoulders in case somebody made them as the infamous serial killers. Therefore, Bobby uses his Fed disguise to work with the local police, while the brothers go undercover as insurance claim adjusters so that they may talk to witnesses of all the bad accidents and deaths.

Sumiko Jones is known in school as the Lion Truth Blogger. The teen is intelligent and extremely observant. She uses these talents to blog school happenings that most fail to notice. Her boyfriend is Ryan Bramble. Ryan has been having trouble with his grades this year. Sumiko is helping by tutoring Ryan; yet Ryan feels that it is a worthless endeavor. It does not help that Ryan has been suffering lately from horrible migraines.

A novel based on the tv show Supernatural, which is about two brothers who hunt monsters and demons across the backroads of America. There's not much exposition in the book for anyone who doesn't follow the show. But since the only ones likely to read it are fans of the programme, that's not going to be a problem.

It tells an all new story for the characters, rather than something based on tv episodes. It runs for three hundred and eighty seven pages and is divided into thirty five chapters.

It is set in between the eighth and ninth episodes of the seventh season of the tv show. Thus anyone who hasn't seen them should wait till they have before reading, otherwise you might get minor spoilers.

The story sees Sam and Dean, plus Bobby, head to a small town in New Jersey where there have been a lot of fatal accidents lately. So many that it can't be coincidence. Especially because of how some have occurred. A mysterious figure is at the centre of all this. He has plans. And a very dark secret....

The first chapter introduces said mysterious figure and give you a tantalising glimpse of his abilities. Then the next brings in the three main characters, although whilst they're in the middle of another job. That chapter doesn't really get going till that job is finished. And only after that does the book really click.

But click it does because it does characterise all three of them perfectly, with dialogue that you can well imagine the tv stars saying. Then it puts them in a typical setting for the show, a small town with problems occurring.

It does use the medium of the printed page well because it has set pieces that would be hard to achieve on tv even with the budget of a show like Supernatural.

It's ok but not great. I prefer the older books for example never more and the witches canyon. But the book still follows the tv story line quite well

As a fan of the series, I found it hard to get into the books. What. Did read was well written and enjoyable, with the characters being exactly the same as they are on TV. I think I just prefer watching it. One also needs to read them in a specific sequence as they refer to things that ave happened in the series and one can get somewhat confused trying to keep track of them. Numbering would help
