Taking up where the critically acclaimed season 4 finished Sam and Dean must try to right their previous wrongs which culminated in the bringing on of the apocalypse. Hunted by Angels and Demons the Winchester brothers battle against their 'destinies' in this compelling and angst ridden start to the 5th season. Jensen Ackles is one of the best small screen actors around and has support from Jared Padeleki and excellent scripts that seem able to provide funny and yet thought provoking moments in every episode. This is one of the best season's yet for Supernatural the show that everyone should be watching but isn't. Not for those who lack any imagination or original thoughts though.

Why Supernatural hasn't been picked up by Sky, or another big channel baffles me,
Put side by side with some of the other American series, Supernatural wins hands down.
Season 5 volume 2 was a superb set of episodes to bring the story to a close. The penultimate episode (the one with Death in) was the stand out for me.
A must buy.

The second half of season 5 is a fantastic piece of television writing. The characters are fighting for the belief that free will, loyalty, love and family can triumph over destiny and evil, and boy do they fight hard. This DVD set contains some of the best episodes Supernatural has ever done (and there are over 100 episodes). The build up to the last episode is intense and unrelentingly exciting.
But good as all the episodes are, you have seen nothing until you have watched the season finale. It is quite simply the best constructed, written and acted hour of television I have ever watched. It packed a huge emotional punch - managing to be heartbreaking yet uplifting. I don't want to spoil it - so I will simply say 'buy these DVDs and watch it for yourself'. You won't regret it. And thank goodness there will be a season 6!

I absolutely love Supernatural and have been hooked for years. I have no idea how they can top this season. Supernatural is defiantly the best TV program out there.

So Supernatural season 5 Part 2 has finally arrived as another three disc set [the cheaper complete UK PAL Fifth Season DVD set will be released in mid October 2010, annoyingly close if you'd already bought the part 1 set and waited months for part 2 - next year I'm waiting for the cheaper full season set]. These part 2 dual layer DVDs contain episodes 12 to 22, with the 'gag reels' on the final DVD as the only extra. In our set the sound is 5.1 Dolby digital, with English and Dutch audio and subtitles. The hearing impaired ['glass shatters, 'Dean Whistles Dixie'] subtitles are English only. Aspect ratio is 16x9, runtime 439 minutes, and the age rating 15 [although I found this season less scary than previous ones, probably as we know all the main protagonists from the last season]. The DVDs are locked UK PAL region 2,4, and have good picture quality on a standard TV.
So the seven seals, well in this case the sixty-six seals, of the Apocalypse have been broken and all Hell's broken loose. This is the great Supernatural finale season, filled with hunters, angels, arch-angels, Satan and a whole lot of demons - and the only ones apparently uninterested in Sam and Dean are The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as they've got enough on their plates already, and God who's well, goodness doesn't know where. I'd love to reveal more, but [spoilers]. All I can say is The Apocalypse hasn't looked this good since the time of Angel [2003: Season 4], and it's a great ending to an excellent series, completely fulfilling the visions of the prophets that it will take 5 years to tell - although, Hallelujah!, the sixth season of Supernatural is almost apon us.

I have watched Supernatural since season 1 and it is with out adoubght the best running program. Jensen ackles (My Bloody Valantimes) is one of the best small screen actors around and think he deserves more credit. Jensen Ackles was seconnd choice for playing Clark Kent in Smallville. The intense and griping seasons are now on there 5 and most likely final season (acording to romers)and i would strongly recomend buying all 5 season to watch as if not for the brillant story line then for the extreamly HOT Actor(s) in it should grab your attetion :)
