From the Author

Supermummy was created out of a genuine respect for mums, like you, and a desire to share what I know to help you. As a mum of three I searched for the ideal work/life balance solution that would allow me to pursue my own interests and ambitions yet still be there for my kids. Setting up an online business made me realise that so many mums out there could really use this too and so it was no longer about me - now it was about us.

And now I have a mission to support all you mums out there to be a Supermummy too!

Remind yourself of your greater purpose as a mum and challenge yourself to be the best role model for your children. When the going gets tough you have a choice about how you are going to respond to that situation. Now you know that all the strength, courage and determination is within you.

Warning: Don't cheat yourself by just reading this book then forgetting about it the next day. It took me too long to realise that only taking action and doing something gets results.

Only you can do what you need to do so make a commitment to yourself that you are going to do whatever it takes to get the results you want. Don't mess about anymore. Don't waste time. Don't live with regrets.

This book is a fantastic compilation of good advice for people at whatever stage they are in thinking about, starting or running their own business around a busy family life.

The neat size of the book means it can be taken anywhere (easily fits in handbag!), which helped me read it when I had the odd unexpected 5 minutes spare. The author's writing style, combined with simple but effective illustrations make the book an easy read, which is essential for busy mums who might be trying to balance family with planning a business - and possibly already an existing job.

The advice is useful whether you're someone who wants to evaluate running a business, or whether you're already determined to run your own business but just don't know where to start. The `Supertips' are as helpful as the information about what not to do, and the spaces left to write your thoughts and ideas just add to the book's worth. Although written with mums in mind, the business advice in the book is relevant to anyone starting or already running a business, with important information about subjects including marketing, time management and motivation.

A very handy introduction to how to create the ideal flexible lifestyle!

Supermummy 13 April 2009
Format:Paperback
As a new mum entering the world of business, I was very interested to read this book, especially as it was recommended by a fellow work at home mum. What I like about this book is that it is very easy to read and so if you don't have much capacity to read at the end of a hard day looking after the little ones, its great.
The other thing I like about it is that at the end of each chapter there are summarised points, so you can pick out the ones that are useful to you and memorise them.
The only slight downside to this book is that I thought it was very expensive for what it is. Whilst the book is undoubtedly very useful, I'm not sure the price warrants buying so see if you can borrow it unless you want to keep going back to it for hints and tips (which I do)!

An excellent book for those mums who have had enough of working for others and want to work for themselves and their families. Well worth a read for ideas as to how to go it alone and get out of the rat race for good! Highly recommended.
