I guess if you're a long term reader of Superman you'll wonder how they manage to condense the events of the hige Doomsday arc into a 75 minute film. Well, they drop a lot but let me, without spoiling too much say that they keep the best aspects. They drop the "Four Supermen" replacements idea completely but that's understandable, there's just not enough time here to tell the extended story.
What story there is is tight, and it's self contained enough that someone with only a basic understanding of Superman will be OK to watch this without worrying about getting lost. The voice cast is strong and the animation is as you'd expect from Bruce Timm's DCAU very Fleischer and very iconic.
I think this, at the current price of only three pounds, is a bargain and a half - snap it up and enjoy one of the better animated Superhero titles.
Oh, there are great bonus features too including a full length commentary and interviews with the cast and crew.

Bought this for my son (13) and I (42) to watch as I've read the story myself. This is the epic story of The Justice League v Doomsday except there's no JLA in this version. No problem! The movie is great as it is in my opinion. The animation is good, the story is great and the sense of power of Doomsday in the fight scenes with Superman is spot on (without giving anything away). The extras are good too. So anyone who has a young lad interested in Superman or if you liked Superman as a kid yourself, you will love this movie. Up! Up! and awayyyyyy!!

when i heard this movie was getting made i thought it would be a cheap cash in for superman returns but then i saw the trailer and thought wow this will be good and when i got it i can't say it's was good but i can say it's great. The cast do a great job with there characters the storyline is very gripping and will leave you wanting moreSuperman - Doomsday [DVD] [2007]

'Too violent, especially during the Doomsday/Superman battle
As the makers of this film said in the audio commentary, they presented a more "mature" story than could be found in the 90's animated series and the follow "Justice League" show. Read more
