BUY IT NOW! 23 May 2000

Format:Audio CD
This is the best album you will ever buy! I saw them support Senser 2yrs ago and Moke totally blew them out of the water! A great mix of heavy guitar riffs and excellent production qualities. A great feel-good album with some excellent lyrics. I can't stress it enough....BUY THIS ALBUM!

I read the other reviews and loving Senser and knowing the married connection between Hogg and Haigh ( John from Moke and Kerstin from Senser ) - I thought yeah give it a go. I'm disappointed overall. The reviews suggest a thrash metal sound, nope can't relate, sos! The first track is believe me the heaviest it gets. Old golden tonsils John is a cool sounding vocalist and is very smooth throughout. Some no doubt will love it. It is, credit due, an excellent rounded album with a fantastic blend of different styles - but certainly more melodic blues than metal. I found it middle of the road and a bit nicey. Sounds a bit Pearl Jam if anything and I'm not keen on them much.

For those of you who appreciate pure thrash metal chords combined with superb lyrics, crisp production and songwriting, this is for you. This album also draws upon some subtle blues and indie influences and some vocal harmonies that make your hair stand on end. Far more than just a 'heavy' band, Moke are what I would have wished for when I was 16, and that was 25 years ago. As if that's not enough, check out their other beauty 'Carnival'.
