5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for any IMSA GTP fan 12 Sep 2013
By Tom Fritz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The Hendrick Corvette GTP was my favorite IMSA GTP car and getting to really know and understand it's best driver was extremely enjoyable. Sarel pulls no punches, especially when it comes to GM brass interference with the Corvette GTP. The car could have easily won more than two races if GM just left the Hendrick team alone. The book, however, does not concentrate on just Sarel's road racing career and deleves deeply into his rallying championships. Most enjoyable were the numerous times he had me laughing aloud. Sarel is just as gifted a story teller as he is a race car driver and Steve Smith does a great job pulling it all together. This book stays in my library and does not get donated to a library or used book store. Every IMSA GTP and WSC fan needs to read it.

A fun read about someone who has done it.
Van may be opinionated but he has a track record that stands up to scrutiny.
I don't think he takes himself nearly as seriously as some would think.
Just someone who does not suffer fools, of which there are many in South African motor sport.
4.0 out of 5 stars supervan is a great read 26 May 2012

Supervan and I is a great read. Brutally honest, it reveals so much of what happened behind the scenes, and some great philosophical insights as well. Kept me absorbed all the way through. One thing though, I am a friend of Roger McCleery, and his name is just that - McCleery, not McLeery!
