I ordered this product as a lightweight alternative to a traditional wooden playpen as we wanted to have it shipped to Prague. I had seen the Lindam version and was less than impressed as it was rather wobbly. This product is lighter, cheaper, more attractive (being made from mesh, it looks less like a cage) and very secure. When attached to the wall brackets, it creates a really safe, spacious play area for our daughter. We have used it bent at a right angle with the gate at the corner and it is very robust, partly due to the plastic feet on either side of the gate. It folds up smaller than a traditional, large playpen as the sides are retractable.
I particularly like the mesh as there is no danger of my daughter trapping a limb or pulling herself up by the bars then falling and banging her head. The panels can be removed for washing and they stop stray toys from escaping too.
One point - this looks great if you need to use it extended to 2.5m or more. However, any less than that and the mesh panels gather up and it doesn't look all that nice (although it would still do the job).

It is a bit expensive, but it's very well made and designed. The length of 3.5 metres is genuine, and it is 76cm high. It creates a really nice playpen in the corner of the room, with plenty of space for our son to crawl around. We bought a cheap mattress from Ikea (2 metres by 1.4 metres) to create the full playpen feel. So any falls are soft ones.

This was perfect while our baby was crawling around, fitting across the room to keep her out of the kitchen. The brown/beige colours are inoffensive and it's easily adjusted, with the top and bottom bars sliding in and out to fit. However she's now 1 and walking and has discovered that with one good push she can open up the gate and just walk on through. I had doubts about the flimsy catch before but this has proved my suspicions - it's useless!
I've secured the gate for now with a piece of string, so we have to clamber over the gate to get past, and have a decision to make whether to go to the hassle of returning the thing and buying an alternative or buying a baby-safe cupboard lock to secure it.
It might be ok for pets, although my dog has also managed to push it open a few times!
