You may say low budget is bad, but this is extremely funny and Clerks was low budget. Its not gone with the wind and its not Clerks, but it is made by an extremely what I feel to be a talented young group. Firstly don’t be expecting anything classy or sophisticated, this is stupid and exactly what it is meant to be, a very stupid comedy resulting in endless laughs. It does have a feel of very low budget and a bit of dodgy acting but there are funny gags, mostly to do with drugs, it opens with a frantic scene which really does set the standard for the film, the troopers are very stupid and not good at the job but create a ridiculous amount of gags, while trying to beat there rival gang. It’s what I call a ‘mates’ film, if you have a bunch of friends round, its one you can really laugh at, especially if you are of a younger generation, having said that my friends dad is sixty four and loves this film, admittedly he’s not a film buff but a lot of us aren’t (including me) he is just a person who watches the odd film for fun. I strongly advise you that if your looking for a good film to just relax with and not think much about I would strongly advise this because it is funny.
The special features are not the best but serve the film well, a funny commentary is the highlight, and a reasonable alternate ending tops it off. The extended scenes do fair well, and are funny but if your buying the DVD, it should be for the film and I wouldn’t rely greatly on the special features even though I find them funny (but maybe that is just my immaturity).
Please see this film, if you don’t like it well at least you tried, but I have a feeling you will, if you do like it believe me it is very rewatchable and for £5.97 on Amazon, it’s a steal.
