From Amazon.co.uk

Super Troopers is a dumb-and-dumber cop comedy starring the members of comedy quintet Broken Lizard, which will no doubt be unfamiliar to the majority of audiences this side of the Atlantic. Although don't let that put you off what is a no-brainer, but often very funny cop caper. The bungling patrolmen are of course hopelessly inept at solving real police work and instead spend more time battling with their nasty rivals in another police force. But when budget cuts loom, the boys have to become real cops for once to prove their worth, not just to their frustrated and long suffering boss but to each other.

The gags come thick and fast and the sheer enthusiasm and timing of the cast ensure that, although very old fashioned in its comedic sensibilities, it remains a consistently entertaining and stupid in equal measure. Watch out also for a small cameo by formers 70's super heroine Lynda Wonder Woman Carter as the mayor.

On the DVD: Super Troopers is packed with extras that belie its limited run and modest success at the box office. There are two commentaries by cast and director, 17 outtakes with optional commentary that are as good as anything that made the final cut and a trailer. The Dolby 5.1 mix is sharp and often loud, and the picture quality on the whole very good. --Jon Weir

Fabulous, turn your brain off fun!
This is a real basic (Animal house) style American frat type film that will show a wet afternoon a clean pair of heals.

I love this movie! So glad I could find it in the UK. Maybe you have to be American to fully appreciate it, but it's a hilarious film.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alternative, but hilarious. 10 April 2013

This film seems to be a bit like marmite? People either love it or hate it- the majority seem to hate it but I personally love it. It really appeals to my sense of humour and I find myself laughing out loud at it. The characters are brilliant and believable- I'd love to see some more films from these guys. Definitely worth a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh a minute cops and robbers 15 Nov 2012
By Lark TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is an absolutely excellent comic feature, if you liked or loved Office Space [1999] [DVD] I would say that you'd absolutely love this one.

There is an overarching plot about rivalry between the highway patrol and police force, who are the real cops, who are going to investigate what crimes, make what busts and take what credit and the feature really plays on the less than perfect nature of each, from the tom foolery or ineptitude of some to the out right criminal corruption of the other.

There are a bunch of memorable characters and scenes, in particular games played by the highway patrol with people they pull over like how often they can say meow (meow see here! which sounds a little like "now see here") or scaring gangs of kids out driving the highway in possession of drugs with tricks which make them think they're losing their minds!! Watching it I thought it was a string of really great comedic sketches with the gradual progression of the plot, intriguing and criminal conspiracy while the two forces compete for the favour of public officials with the purse strings to fund their services (public officials who're pretty juvenile themselves).

While a couple of scenes are a little lewid but I thought this movie was a lot better than a lot of other recent comic offerings and closer, perhaps, in style or tone to the earlier Police Academy movies.

You may say low budget is bad, but this is extremely funny and Clerks was low budget. Its not gone with the wind and its not Clerks, but it is made by an extremely what I feel to be a talented young group. Firstly don’t be expecting anything classy or sophisticated, this is stupid and exactly what it is meant to be, a very stupid comedy resulting in endless laughs. It does have a feel of very low budget and a bit of dodgy acting but there are funny gags, mostly to do with drugs, it opens with a frantic scene which really does set the standard for the film, the troopers are very stupid and not good at the job but create a ridiculous amount of gags, while trying to beat there rival gang. It’s what I call a ‘mates’ film, if you have a bunch of friends round, its one you can really laugh at, especially if you are of a younger generation, having said that my friends dad is sixty four and loves this film, admittedly he’s not a film buff but a lot of us aren’t (including me) he is just a person who watches the odd film for fun. I strongly advise you that if your looking for a good film to just relax with and not think much about I would strongly advise this because it is funny.

The special features are not the best but serve the film well, a funny commentary is the highlight, and a reasonable alternate ending tops it off. The extended scenes do fair well, and are funny but if your buying the DVD, it should be for the film and I wouldn’t rely greatly on the special features even though I find them funny (but maybe that is just my immaturity).

Please see this film, if you don’t like it well at least you tried, but I have a feeling you will, if you do like it believe me it is very rewatchable and for £5.97 on Amazon, it’s a steal.

5.0 out of 5 stars gimee a litre o cola 18 May 2004
Format:DVD
being honest i have to say this is the funniest film i have ever seen . forget about the big budget films like road trip and american pie the wedding ,well ok don,t forget them because they are quite funny but if you have,nt seen this yet then do.It,s amazingly funny and it beats the crap out of van wilder party laison the gags are thick and fast and like some films there not racial or offensive.the acting is brilliant especially from brian cox and the guys who play mac and foster.and another good thing is thet in most places it,s only a tenner which in my opinion is an abserlout bargain.do not judge the film because it little known and the actors are praticly unheard of .I LOVE THIS FILM ,I LOVE THIS FILM, I LOVE THIS FILM.PS;you,ll love the beggining scene with the three dopers, its hilarious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super troopers- Super film 5 May 2003
By A Customer
Format:DVD
Super Troopers focuses on a bunch of Vermont highway state troopers and their ongoing battles with the local police force. Due to cutbacks the troopers are about to be made reduntant and must convince the governor that they deserve to keep their jobs. They set about doing this by uncovering a drug smuggling organisation and solving a murder.
