The follow-up to the critically acclaimed Super Street Fighter IV will further redefine the fighting game genre with classic 2D Street Fighter fighting action, a host of new and returning characters, beefed up online modes, and more.
Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition features a roster of 39 characters such as Ryu, Chun-li, Juri, El Fuerte, and Rufus, while adding 4 new characters to the roster including classic combatants from previous Street Fighter games like Yun and Yang as well as the all-new Oni.
Beyond characters, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition adds all-new balancing as well as an enhanced Replay Channel.
- New Playable Characters - Four new challengers enter the ring: Yun, Yang, Oni and Evil Ryu.
- Updated Character Balancing - Features all new character balancing, further refining gameplay.
- Updated Replay Channel:
- Replay Follower - Be able to follow up to 5 separate player replays making it easier to find your favourite players' latest replay.
- My Channel Advanced - Allows players to distribute their replay data to up to 50 players.
- Elite Channel - Watch replay data from elite players who have a rating of 3000PP or more.
- All playable SSFIV characters will be unlocked out of the box, including Yun & Yang, Oni, and Evil Ryu.

Where to start? Bright, vibrant, and beautifully animated characters, each full of personality make this game a joy to play. The combat is fun, full of depth and remains true to the Street Fighter style. There's also plenty to keep you coming back as I always seem to be unlocking new features, character colours, etc.
My only complaint is with the Microsoft Games for Windows Live software that is necessary to save game data. It took a long time for the game to install and there were numerous updates for GfWL that had to be installed before I could really get going and enjoy the game. But this is just nitpicking.
Overall, this is a fantastic game and have no regrets buying it.

have this running on an arcade cabinet, and it looks sweet.
Very good game, but was surprised to see that it now uses 8 buttons instead of the usual 6.
the 2 extra buttons are for the focus attack and throw.

Quite possibly the best modern fighting game around (even more likely the best on PC), with a host of new characters and balance fixes since the Vanilla Version. Sadly the Multiplayer and patching is done via GfWL but if you can get past that (or intend to play locally with friends) it really is a blast. The AI is anything from competent to brutal (I suspect it is no match for a pro but at that point you will be playing online) depending on the setting so you can get in your practice there before going online, there is also a training mode and a challenge mode that teaches you the moves and combos, I would also recommend checking a wiki for the finer points and advanced techniques. With the settings turned down it will run on almost anything (I have run it on an i3 2105 with an Intel HD3000 GPU) and with the settings turned up on a more powerful PC it looks absolutely beautiful. Just be sure to set the frame-rate to "fixed" in the settings (especially if you are going to be playing multiplayer online) and that you can get over 60fps or you will slow down the match. A Fight Pad or Stick would be recommended but you can easily play it on any controller, some inputs are even easier on a keyboard (360 command grabs anyone?)

Same old Street Fighter indeed. Fast paced, looks great and tonnes of combos to pull off. If you prefer Tekken, buy Tekken. Read more
