Chapters discuss the history of breeding fishes in aquaria, how to condition adult fish, raising the fry, disease prevention, notes on hybrids, species-specific guidelines and instructions, and more. The species catalogue includes such popular types of fish as livebearers (guppies, etc.), anabantoids, catfish, characins, cichilids, cyprinids, and rainbowfish. Color photographs on every page beautifully illustrate this handy, plain-terms guide, printed on sturdy, water-resistant paper stock. A "must-have" for anyone interested in successfully breeding freshwater fish.

I have read many books on caring for fish (fresh and saltwater) and have both fresh (55 gal) and marine (90 gal)setups. As someone interested in learning about breeding fish I feel this book was a good place to start especially at such a cheap price.
It gives simple to understand (as the name suggests) info on the different types of breeding habits of freshwater fish, gives how-to guides about getting the fish in the mood :), care for their eggs/fry and gives detailed info on certain popular species of fish breeding.
If you are looking for starter info on breeding fish it's a good place to start IMHO. If you have been breeding fish successfully already this book will probably be of little help. This book is more than just a pamphlet as another reviewer suggests.
